Mango Pickle- Punjabi Style

As you all know, all are tempted for mango pickle, so here is the mouth watering mango pickle recipe.


Ingredients:

Green Mango - 500 gms (3)

Mustard Oil - 1 cup

Nigella Seeds - 2 tbsp

Salt - 4 tbsp

Fenel Seeds - 4tbsp (25 gms)

Fenugreek Seeds - 4tbsp (25 gms)

Red Chilli Powder - 2 tbsp (20 gms)

Black Pepper - 1tbsp (10 gms)

Cumin Seeds - 1tbsp (10 gms)

Black Caraway (Kalaunji) - 1 tbsp (10 gms)

Turmeric Powder - 1 tbsp (10 gms)

Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp


How to Prepare


  • First well roast the fennel, fenugreek and cumin seeds a little and at last add black pepper.


  • Once it is cooled, grind it coarsely.

  • Then add all the grinded masala to the mango pieces that we have cut and dried (all water saoked).

  • Add Asafoetida as well into it.

  • Add turmeric powder, black caraway (Kalaunji), red chilli powder.

  • Then add heated mustard oil and mix all the ingredients well.

  • Keep on mixing till all the masala gets coated on the mango pieces.


  • Then cover it and keep it for 5-7 days but keep on stirring it once every day
